As you may have heard, one the founding fathers of IT journalism in Australia, John Patrick (JP) Costello passed away last month.
Yesterday there was a huge gathering of friends and former colleagues at the Rag & Famish hotel in North Sydney to bid farewell to John.
John was the founding editor of Computerworld Australia and highly regarded for his encouragement of young journalists. I know this is true because although unfortunately we never met, I did receive a couple of phone calls from John over the years commending my work.
Farewell John, and thanks for starting it all.
