I now have Kubuntu, Korora (Fedora) and Chakra systems on the go.<\/p>\n<p>Out of those it seems Kubuntu has the least direction. It seems to be just plodding along, forever in the shadow of its misspent older sibling.<\/p>\n<p>There is an effort to make an integrated, single-option KDE distribution in <a href=\"https:\/\/kaosx.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/kaosx.us\/<\/a>. The project is similar to Chakra, but is eyeing a move to Illumos instead of Linux for the kernel which is kinda scary.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kaosx.us\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1048 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gedda.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/kaos_linux.jpg\" alt=\"Kaos\" width=\"600\" height=\"423\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gedda.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/kaos_linux.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.gedda.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/kaos_linux-300x212.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s hope Chakra matures to be the user-friendly, Linux and KDE-based OS for everyone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I installed Chakra Linux on an old notebook after a few years away from it.
