{"id":204,"date":"2009-01-02T14:26:44","date_gmt":"2009-01-02T04:26:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gedda.info\/?p=204"},"modified":"2014-03-13T11:11:35","modified_gmt":"2014-03-13T01:11:35","slug":"splashing-out-at-avoca-beach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gedda.info\/?p=204","title":{"rendered":"Splashing out at Avoca Beach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We went to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Avoca_Beach\">Avoca Beach<\/a> for an early morning swim and snorkel on <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/New_Years_Day\">New Year&#8217;s Day<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Avoca Beach was picture perfect. The water was clear, cool and refreshing. And the rock pool at the southern end of the beach is great for snorkeling and viewing little fish.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately I didn&#8217;t bring my old compact digital camera (my N95 takes better photos, but I&#8217;m hesitant to leave that on the beach) so no happy snaps. But as we enjoyed ourselves so much we may return before I go back to work, in which case I will definitely bring the compact digital.<\/p>\n<p>As it was a nice and clear, mid-30 degree day, the beach was very popular. Many people were using those tent-like sun shades to protect themselves from the Sun which was good to see.<\/p>\n<p>We were gone by 11am just as the beachgoers began to really assemble along the shoreline.<\/p>\n<p>Oh yeah, Happy New Year everyone.
