To my surprise, the history of the Titanic disaster as told by Geoffrey Marcus is quite interesting.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/RMS_Titanic\">The Titanic<\/a> was a litany of failures and was not a disaster solely because of the urban myth that &#8220;there weren&#8217;t enough lifeboats&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Just as interesting as the ship&#8217;s voyage is Marcus&#8217; description of life at the time (1912).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"The Maiden Voyage\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gedda.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/maiden_voyage.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When I picked up The Maiden Voyage in a small second hand book store I didn&#8217;t think much of the content.
