I’ve had quite a busy start to this year’s holiday season.<\/p>\n

Lots of shopping, driving people around, and time to brush up on my Web and graphic design skills. CSS can be tamed will quite a few subtle tweaks.<\/p>\n

BTW, have I ever mentioned how awesomeness Inkscape<\/a> is? It has a few frustrating usability quirks, but on the whole I couldn’t be happier. I’ve been drawing all sorts of things rapidly and consistently. Some of which I hope to add to my blog in the near future.<\/p>\n

I’m adamant I don’t have an artistic bone in my body, but a comprehensive tool like Inkscape makes graphic design even enjoyable.<\/p>\n

Of course, I’m eagerly awaiting the release of KOffice 2.2 which should bring a whole new dimension to open source productivity suites, including graphic design tools.<\/p>\n

In the meantime I will get around to trying version 2.1<\/a> over the summer break. A native vector illustrator (Karbon) and image manipulation app (Krita) in an office suite. Sweet.<\/p>\n

For image manipulation stuff, I’ve been oscillating between the Gimp and Krita for several years now, with Gimp being favourite in recent times. Probably because I know where everything is and am quite fast with it. Krita is moving ahead in leaps and bounds though, and is definitely worth keeping up with.<\/p>\n
