Thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/k-sit.com\/\">James Purser<\/a> for suggesting that I give it a go.<\/p>\n<p>So my home wireless VoIP setup is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>1. 512K\/128K ADSL<br \/>\n2. 802.11b Wi-Fi access point and integrated DSL router<br \/>\n3. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lenovo.com\">Lenovo<\/a> R52 notebook running SuSE 10.0 (I&#8217;ll describe this in more detail soon)<br \/>\n4. Skype for SuSE Linux (rpm installs fine)<br \/>\n5. A cheap, $6, one-ear headset and microphone<\/p>\n<p>I kid you not, all those pieces strung together gives a BETTER quality phone call than my PSTN landline.<\/p>\n<p><img src='https:\/\/www.gedda.info\/wp-content\/skype1.png' alt='skype intro' \/><\/p>\n<p>My Skype username is rodneygedda (will I get SPIT upon?) so please give me a call. Although I must admit I&#8217;m only really on the notebook late in the evening. At this stage I haven&#8217;t purchased any of Skype&#8217;s value-added features but that may change soon because so far I have been more than impressed with the quality &#8211; and the sheer convenience of being able to call from a computer.<\/p>\n<p>Here are my queries:<\/p>\n<p>1. Is the SkypeOut service any good for us Aussies?<br \/>\n2. If so, what are the typical costs to call the average local landline?<br \/>\n3. What about a SkypeIn number for us Aussies?<br \/>\n4.
