They really liked the first sentence \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"wa's tech truck\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gedda.info\/wp-content\/tech_truck4.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Not only is the roadshow introducing people to the Internet (thanks Big T), it&#8217;s also doing a good job of getting open source software recognised as well.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"inside the truck\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gedda.info\/wp-content\/tech_truck1.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>What I found most interesting is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.doir.wa.gov.au\/\">DOIR&#8217;s<\/a> willingness to create it&#8217;s own CD full of open source apps &#8211; like the already used <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theopencd.org\/\">TheOpenCD<\/a> but with some additional applications needed by the community. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ubuntulinux.org\">Ubuntu<\/a> CDs are also being distributed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"girls web surfing\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gedda.info\/wp-content\/tech_truck2.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hopefully the roadshow gathers its fair share of non-IT media coverage because such a project has the opportunity to snowball around the country. It has implications for the wider education and business sectors. Apparently a lot of small business people have found the roadshow to be a real eye-opener.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"small business tech truck\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gedda.info\/wp-content\/tech_truck5.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>However it catches on, at the very least it&#8217;s good to see our taxes being put to something worthwhile.
