The Maiden Voyage by Geoffrey Marcus

When I picked up The Maiden Voyage in a small second hand book store I didn’t think much of the content. To my surprise, the history of the Titanic disaster as told by Geoffrey Marcus is quite interesting.

The Titanic was a litany of failures and was not a disaster solely because of the urban myth that “there weren’t enough lifeboats”.

Just as interesting as the ship’s voyage is Marcus’ description of life at the time (1912).
