WordPress and social media integration options?

I’m now looking for a way to “cross post” blogs to Twitter and Facebook if so desired. I’m thinking a WordPress plug-in that will allow you to select the option to post on social media sites. Then again, there may be a desktop app that can easily do them all. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

  1. Alex King’s “Twitter Tools” (named as such in the WordPress plugins repository) is the best Twitter integration plugin from my POV.

It lets you tell Twitter when you publish a post, gives you a checkbox to choose, lets you stop certain categories from being posted at all (very handy), gives you a nice Twitter widget, and best of all, it keeps a backup of all your tweets in the database.

I use it on all of the sites I run (well, the ones which need Twitter integration anyway).

Then, use the Twitter/Facebook integration to post all your Tweets to Facebook, or just use the Facebook RSS integration to show just your blog posts.

    1. Thanks for the advice Jeff.

I’ve always hated the idea of personal info being fragmented across many public portals. By consolidating it all through my blog at the very least I will retain a record of everything.

I’m in the middle of some blog house keeping so I’ll take a look at options you suggested.

      Speak soon.

  2. Come awn, real men crosspost to UUCP, what are you made of huh?

Did I tell you that RHAT share price was set to hoon past MSFT? Well it happened, and don’t expect Balmer to close the gap anytime soon. Big psychological barrier right there.

By the way, back to the Kogan netbook… the price dropped on the Kogan website to $439 but lately I’ve been getting emails offering substantial discount codes beyond that. Presumably these emails are going out to existing customers? Not sure what is going on, maybe Kogan over estimated the popularity and now wants to get rid of excess stock, or maybe the strong Aussie dollar is helping.

Might be a good time for people to politely enquire about making an offer 🙂

I upgraded my Kogan from Hardy to Karmic and it works but Hardy was heaps more stable. Fingers crossed they get Karmic sorted in the next few weeks. I expected that this close to an LTS release they would be a bit more polished. Oh well, it’s an adventure.
